Japan 🇯🇵, part 2.1 - small in Japan. Tokyo to Kyoto. 500.000EUR whiskey bottle, Mount Fuji without snow cap, lunch at a former house of a brother of the emperor, dinosaurs which may grow into Godzilla. What you see is filtered by the moment, the hand, the attention/distraction, the smells, the whistle and bells - and the review of all. 3.600 photos doesn‘t tell a story, sometimes one does - sometimes none, but a sequence may… I know practically nothing of Japan, even after training Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu till the 2nd Dan in Iaido, I still haven‘t been there till this year. So many of my friends traveled there in the last 2 year - a boom of photos and a faint memory of „Big in Japan“ (from David Bowie, Alphaville to the Guano Apes). Its not the 90s anymore, and Japan appears less „flashy“ but sturdy, and the food is simply gorgeous, as many know. So much more soothing and kindly old fashioned, I was surprised. Knowing means repeating, listening, watching. Fine Ribolla, fine presence of RAI television. Good art. Now well groomed animals preserved from certain death. // Al tramonto avrà luogo l’evento di finissage di „Sotto lo stesso albero“, una mostra diffusa che per tutta l’estate si è radicata fisicamente nel borgo storico di Soleschiano di Manzano, tra le antiche case di pietra e le piante secolari.

The woods of enormous Cryptomeria trees secured with steel cables protect the world famous Nikko shrine from the 17th century.
